Legal Resources found Online

If you needed legal information, where would you go?  Do you know someone who is a lawyer who can answer all your questions and give legal advice?  If you don’t, you can sit at your computer and do a search for Cornell Law Library. This is where you can find access to many online research databases.

You can look through the wide range of topics and all these resources are categorized by subject but not all are available to everyone.  You will see a symbol key that lets you know which are free to all, which are available to the Cornell community and which are only available through Law School workstations. Others sites are password protected and these can only be used by faculty and Law School students.

You can scan down the long list of resources to find the one that fits your area of interest.  Bankruptcy, legal history, corporate & securities, family law and government documents are just a few of the many topics you can choose from. If you choose the government documents, you will find many free websites that are available to everyone.  This might be where you find the answers you are looking for.
